…cause our FIVE YEAR OLD does!!!!! She learned it at preschool! That’s right folks…preschool! She actually learned it last year in her 4s class, so they are revisiting it this year! Until last year, I’d never heard the word in my life! So far, no adults that we have asked have known what OVIPAROUS means.
Are you dying to know? Well, I’ll tell you. Oviparous is an animal that lays eggs (birds, chickens, shark, snakes, salamanders, turtles, alligators, etc.)
What is my point you ask??? Macy had an assignment due at school today. She was to choose an oviparous animal, draw a picture of it, hide it in a plastic egg, and write 3 clues to help her classmates guess her animal.
We had the best time and she was terribly proud of herself! Check out the finished product…
Isn’t that the cutest long-legged duck you ever did see!?!?!? And, I’m so proud of her writing and spelling! But I’m most proud of the fact that she did this all herself. Again I say…she is getting so big!
This is just one more reason why we ADORE Apple Creek Private Preschool!!! Rock on, Apple Creek…rock on! So cool when your kids know more than you -- and so scary!

1 sweet thoughts from our peeps:
What an accomplishment! Using inventive spelling your 5 year old not only can read and write but can also demonstrate her knowledge of scientific concepts in a fun and interesting way.
I hope you don't mind that I have linked your blog to my page about Oviparous Animals on Squidoo.
Thank you for sharing your child's work. You are justly proud of her accomplishments and abilities.
